It is not long now until the 16th annual Taste of Omaha, which will be taking place for three days in May and June.
The Omaha Business Hall of Fame Gala, which is coming up at the end of April, will be inducting several new members. Past inductees who have received this prestigious honor have included former mayors, university presidents, and business leaders.
Natural Grocers, based in Colorado, has opened a new store in Omaha, which is its second store in Nebraska. The store sells natural and organic products exclusively.
The Young Professionals Summit is presented by the Greater Omaha Young Professionals of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce. It brings young business professionals together for a day of learning and sharing. Last year, the summit attracted approximately 1,500 attendees.
There are several new exhibits opening at the Joslyn Art Museum in January of 2013, all of which are free with museum admission. No doubt the museum works with Omaha printing companies to spread the word about upcoming exhibits through flyers and brochures.
The Chamber Academy of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce is a great resource for local business professionals to learn the ins and outs of running a successful business, and it still has two more seminars to offer before the end of 2012.
The 30th annual Autumn Festival: an Arts and Crafts Affair will get November underway at the CenturyLink Center. The festival is expected to draw artists and crafters from all over the United States, with approximately 500 in attendance.
Tickets for the 2012 Buy the Big O! Show are now available for $10 or can be obtained free of charge from any of the exhibitors.
The Applegrass Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival will take place at Ditmars Orchard in Council Bluffs, Iowa from September 1 to 2. Admission is $10 per day or $15 for both days, while children aged 12 and under are admitted free of charge.
The Nebraska Balloon and Wine Festival will take place at Coventry Campus from August 10 - 11. General admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. VIP tickets, which include five tastes of wine and a souvenir glass or a beer, are $12.
